PANTONE's Newest Hue: Minion Yellow

The Pantone Color Institute just announced a brand new color being added to their line up! (For those of you who may not have heard of the Pantone Color Institute, it is considered THE international authority on color trend forecasting. You may have heard of the PANTONE Color of the year -- for 2015 it's Marsala!)

Say hello to Minion Yellow -- inspired by the blockbuster film franchise, Despicable Me!

If you read their official announcement, it says that singer-songwriter Pharrell Williams was the one who actually came up with this idea. When Pantone heard Pharrell's suggestion, they were happy, happy, happy! <---See what I did there? Haha. Anyway, then the Pantone color team worked closely with the animation team behind the movie to come up with this precise shade.

Yellow is a color that can be a bit polarizing in the interior design world. Some people love it and some people hate it! While I'm not a huge fan of yellow walls, I absolutely LOVE the way little accents of yellow can totally energize a room. I think it's the perfect way to refresh your home for spring!

Just for fun, I've put together this little collage of my home decor picks inspired by PANTONE's New Color Minion Yellow.

Now tell me, which Minion Yellow pick is YOUR favorite?

And for good measure... Happy Wednesday, everyone!
