Upstairs Hallway | Progress
I'm interrupting the Sterling Project reveals to bring you an update on our upstairs hallway! Work on the hallway has been going slowly but steadily. Last week, I finished painting all of the wall, doors and trim. I decided to take the hallway color all the way down our steps as well. Here's a look at the "before":
A reminder of my plan, which I shared in this post:
And here's what the hallway looks like right now. That's our future master bedroom at the end of the hallway, also still in progress!
Our new family timeline gallery wall has been hung (still need to design and print the years to fill the empty frames), along with a very special custom calligraphy art piece made from True North Paper Co. that I will be sharing all about in my next hallway post! Here's another sneak peek:
Blurry = very sneaky. If we weren't having our nieces over for a sleepover tonight, I would be ripping up the hallway carpet right now, but something tells me exposed nails and carpet tack strips everywhere would not be so toddler friendly... In other news, I ordered new ceiling lights for the upstairs and downstairs hallways. Anthony's busy season at work is winding down, so I'm hoping he can install them for me in the next week or so. I chose these schoolhouse style semi-flush mount fixtures. I originally saw them on Wayfair, but found the best price on them at Ace Hardware, just over $20 each! Our local hardware store is an Ace, which made it even better because I was able to get free shipping for in-store pickup. Definitely planning to use them as a resource more in the future!
I still have some more work to do, but I'm already loving the changes I've made to the hallway. The paint color (Foggy Day by Sherwin Williams) is even prettier in person and seeing our portraits by Savannah Smith Photography all lined up makes me smile every time I walk up and down the hallway.
