Cross Quarter Club: Field Trip to Conestoga House & Gardens
Last night, a few of us from Cross Quarter Club took a field trip to Conestoga House & Gardens in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and I loved every minute. Wandering the picturesque grounds together felt a little like being transported to Europe for an evening. Then we had a chance to learn all about rose gardening from estate gardener, Vicki Wettig. I took three pages of notes! It was the perfect weekday getaway that left me feeling refreshed and inspired to get back into my own garden and so thankful for the wonderful connections that have been made through our magical little gardening group.
This was my first time visiting Conestoga House & Gardens and I am already excited to go back! It’s an amazing little pocket of stillness and beauty, located just 2 miles from the heart of downtown Lancaster. With 7.8 acres of beautifully maintained gardens and grounds, it’s a place that invites you to stop and stay awhile. The gardens are open Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays from noon to 7pm starting in May and going through October. You are welcome to bring your own picnic to enjoy on the lawns or patio! For the 2023 season, they also have special Thursday date night offers with wine and charcuterie and a Friday concert series called Music on the Lawn. Learn more and plan your visit, here!
