Our Spring Bucket List | Free Printable PDF Download
This spring is looking a bit different than any of us thought. In the uncertainty surrounding this global pandemic and our responsibility to practice social distancing, there is a lot on our minds right now. I don’t think there should be any pressure on us to make this time as productive or fun or educational as possible. But I also I know many of us are looking for ideas to entertain our children and ourselves while schools and daycares are closed and ways to find joy and peace while we are waiting it out, quarantined in our homes. With spring officially starting on the 19th, I thought it was a good a time as any to share my seasonal bucket list printable with you all.
I’m using our list more as a trove of ideas to choose from rather than an actual checklist to tick off. For the time being, Anthony is still working out of the home and I’m continuing my design work and writing during nap times. So our lives don’t look too different, although I am definitely missing time with family and friends and our weekly outings to the coffee shop and library. By 10:00 or 11:00am, I’m definitely scratching my head thinking of what to do. Here’s what’s on our very long list of ideas:
grow flowers from seed for our garden
have a backyard picnic
start baking bread again (my favorite recipe)
declutter our “junk room”
make simple sensory toys with bins of dry beans, pasta and/or rice
lay new flooring in the kitchen (this was on our winter bucket list too! haha)
make an epic blanket fort in the living room
go on daily walks around your neighborhood
kick a soccer ball around
paint easter eggs
make beaded jewelry
take an online class (brit + co is offering all their classes for free through 3/31!)
make homemade playdough
deep clean the house
facetime friends and family
send drawings and letters via snail mail
transplant our lilac bush
hang kid’s artwork in the front window of your house for people walking by to enjoy
paint my studio
download a meditation app (I’m enjoying Insight Timer and Headspace)
make magazine collages
spend time reading everyday, not just picture books
start a weekly zoom hangout with friends
watch storytime online videos
stock up on stickers (toddlers love stickers, enough said.)
propagate houseplants from cuttings
order something online or purchase a gift card from a small business
leave google reviews for your favorite local shops and service providers
listen to a new podcast (I’m loving Poetry Unbound right now!)
create a spring playlist on Spotify
build a playhouse out of cardboard boxes
make DIY potato stamp art
water-paint with this $8 magic calligraphy water paper (thanks to Emily Jeffords for the idea!)
